BREAKING: Tinubu Postpones 2025 Budget Presentation to National Assembly
President Tinubu announces a shift in the date for the presentation of the 2025 budget to the National Assembly, with new details expected soon.
President Bola Tinubu’s presentation of the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly has been rescheduled from Tuesday, December 17, to Wednesday, December 18.
A reliable source from the Senate verified the change, and an official announcement is anticipated within a few hours.
The rescheduling comes after an announcement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary, where he had earlier mentioned that President Tinubu would deliver the 2025 budget on December 17.
He stated that the president has informed the National Assembly of his intention to present the 2025 budget to their joint session on December 17, 2024.
Akpabio announced that the budget presentation will take place in the House of Representatives Chamber.
He also notified the lawmakers that plenary will commence at 10:30 am, allowing senators to gather in the Red Chamber before proceeding together to the House of Representatives chamber for the budget presentation.
Last month, Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2025–2027 to both the Senate and the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
