In a bold move in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Aribibia Fubara – an executive at the state’s Board of Internal Revenue Service – was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.

According to reports, six assailants arrived at the Marine Base area via a speedboat from the Okirika Waterfront during the incident.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the abductors carried out their mission in a commando fashion, unleashing bullets haphazardly into the atmosphere to cause pandemonium.

After arriving at their destination, they quickly took Fubara aboard and rapidly departed, leaving behind a chaotic scene.

Fubara’s family has yet to receive any communication from the kidnappers as of Monday, and their reasons behind this act are still unknown.

The occurrence has been verified by Grace Iringe-Koko, who serves as the representative for Rivers State Police Command. She guaranteed the public that an inquiry is currently in progress.

“Yes, the incident has been brought to the attention of higher authorities. The deployment of all tactical units and notification of area commanders have been initiated by the Commissioner of Police with an aim to safely rescue him,” she said.

The Commissioner of Police has directed the police to catch and prosecute the suspects, which she emphasized. The search for the abducted director is ongoing, resulting in a tense situation.
