BREAKING: INEC Chairman says that the February 25 election must take place
Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election will go place on February 25 as scheduled, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
At a press conference on Friday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of INEC, announced this.
His guarantees arrive just a few hours before the presidential election scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023.
In terms of our preparation, the situation in the nation is generally calm, according to Yakubu.
He claims that neither the individuals nor the equipment used by the commission have been the subject of any security incidents.

“Voter interest is high, and we’re determined to hold elections that can be trusted. The election is tomorrow,” he said.
By making his declaration, the electoral chief effectively ruled out any postponement, which had routinely been a feature of Nigeria’s general elections since 2011. But, Saturday at 12 am is still a considerable amount of time for any unforeseen developments.
The election this year is anticipated to see a considerable increase in voter turnout. 93.3% of the 93,469,008 total registered voters have already picked up their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or 87,209,007 people.
