Unknown numbers of people have reportedly died as a result of the collapse of a multi-story structure in the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, Abuja.

According to information obtained by OBASANJO NEWS24, the tragedy happened on Wednesday night because of a significant downpour.

The structure is situated on Abuja’s continuously busy Lagos Street in Garki Village’s Garki II neighbourhood.

As at the time of publication, the incident’s specifics are still vague. The rescue effort is still going on, according to Ikharo Attah, a former assistant to the outgoing Minister of the FCT, who confirmed the development in a post on his Facebook page.

He affirmed that while some people are still trapped, at least seven have so far been rescued and sent to a hospital.
