Ajuri Ngelale has officially stepped down from his position as President Tinubu’s spokesman, marking the end of his tenure in the administration’s communication team.

With immediate effect, Ajuri Ngelale has resigned from his position as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Bola Tinubu.

Ngelale announced in a statement from the Presidency on Saturday that he had presented a memo to Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, notifying him of his intention to take an unspecified period off.

Ngelale stated that he resigned from his positions as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

Ngelale stated that he resigned from his position to address medical issues currently impacting his immediate family.

“I submitted a memo to the President’s Chief of Staff on Friday, informing them that I will be taking an indefinite leave of absence. This is so that I can focus directly on addressing medical issues affecting my immediate nuclear family.”

Even though I understand that the government must continue to operate even without me, I have made a difficult decision based on my family’s consultations. This involves temporarily stepping down from my roles as Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen due to a challenging medical situation at home which has worsened over several days.

“When time, healing and fate allow it, I eagerly anticipate resuming my full-time national service. At this moment, I kindly request some privacy for myself as well as my family.”
