Ngelale stated that he resigned from his position to address medical issues currently impacting his immediate family.

“I submitted a memo to the President’s Chief of Staff on Friday, informing them that I will be taking an indefinite leave of absence. This is so that I can focus directly on addressing medical issues affecting my immediate nuclear family.”

Even though I understand that the government must continue to operate even without me, I have made a difficult decision based on my family’s consultations. This involves temporarily stepping down from my roles as Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen due to a challenging medical situation at home which has worsened over several days.
