Boko Haram kills officers, loots police armoury in attack

Boko Haram attacks a police station, killing officers and looting the armoury, escalating violence in the region.

A police officer and a woman have died following a raid by alleged Boko Haram militants on the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Nigeria’s Borno State.

The attackers fled with a large stockpile of weapons and bullets.

At 1:00 am, the attackers unexpectedly arrived at the police station and caught the security personnel off guard.

There was an intense exchange of gunfire that lasted several hours, resulting in the insurgents overpowering the officers. They proceeded to ransack the armoury and ignite two patrol vehicles along with a motorcycle.

According to sources, the CJTF utilized one of the demolished vehicles and law enforcement used the other.

Hon Abbas Ali Abari, Chairman of Konduga Local Government confirmed the occurrence and assured to furnish additional information as it unfolds.

Borno State Police Public Relations Officer, Nahun Kenneth could not be reached despite several attempts through calls and messages.

Situated on the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway, about 45 kilometers away from Borno State’s capital Maiduguri is Jakana.
