The young man and his girlfriend passed away at Ugborikoko town, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, allegedly from fumes from a generator that was locked inside their flat throughout the night.
The man, whose name was withheld, was rumoured to have spent Sunday night in a nightclub celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday with the lover.

According to reports, the two walked to the lady’s store after the party, turned on the generator, and then went to bed. It was there that they passed away before dawn.
It is said that in the early hours of Monday, neighbours found the two lovers’ dead bodies in the room.
During a Tuesday morning phone conversation with media, Delta State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the graphic event.
As some sympathisers accused the deceased of “causing their families pain this Yuletide,” others thought that the death might have been the result of “evil manipulations by their enemies.”
