Binani, the APC candidate for governor of Adamawa, is defeated by Atiku in voting unit
Sen. Aishatu Binani, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Adamawa State, failed on Saturday to hand over her voting district to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential nominee.
Both Senator Binani and First Lady Aishat Buhari’s younger brother, Modi Halilu, cast ballots at the same polling location in Yola, 006, in the Mbamoi Ward, but Atiku Abubakar prevailed.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results from the unit, and while the PDP received 129 votes to win, the APC finished second with 101 votes.

On March 6, Binani will run for state governor against Ahmadu Umar Fintiri, who is currently serving as governor of Adamawa.
Senator Aishatu Binani (Adamawa Central), who won the Adamawa State governorship ticket of the APC, recently encouraged Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to prepare a handover note because of what she characterised as looming stares in his face.
