Damar Hamlin, a Buffalo Bills safety, is in critical condition after collapsing during a tackle during the team’s game on Monday night.
The Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals was postponed, according to the NFL.
Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills passed out during tonight’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed in a statement. ” Local paramedics and team medical staff provided Hamlin with emergency medical care on the scene. He was afterwards taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently in a critical condition.
“We are praying for Damar and the Buffalo Bills. As additional information becomes available, we will update this page.
The NFL Players Association has been in touch with the NFL a lot because it wants the game to be moved.
Ira Turner, Hamlin’s agent, stated in a statement that as of late Monday night, “no update” had been made.
The Bills players would be travelling home from Cincinnati on Monday night, according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.
Additionally, the NFLPA issued a statement:
“Everyone in our community, including the NFLPA, is praying for Damar Hamlin. Players from the Bengals and Bills as well as the NFL have been in contact with us. “At this point, just Damar’s health and wellbeing are important.”
Hamlin tackled Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins in the opening frame. Hamlin stood up before falling backward onto the playing field. Before being taken in an ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Hamlin underwent CPR while on the field for a number of minutes.
Some of the players on both teams were clearly upset as they stood around 24-year-old Hamlin on the field as he got medical care.
Prior to the players warming up to resume play, officials conferred with the coaches of the two sides. Play was then stopped, and the players and coaches left the field to go to the locker room.
Since Hamlin was admitted to the hospital, the community fundraiser he previously organised has received a flood of donations.
The Bills selected Hamlin in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In his second season, he has made 14 starts.
