The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have cautioned Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading sociocultural organisation of Igbos, not to obstruct Igbos who are agitating for Biafra.

IPOB emphasised that the organisation is unwavering in its demand for a Biafra referendum.

IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, issued the warning in response to Barrister Augustine Amaechi of Ohanaeze’s criticism of the Biafra referendum.

Igbos want restructuring, not a referendum, as IPOB claims, according to Amaechi.

Powerful condemned the statement and called people opposed to the Biafra referendum political jobbers.

Part of a statement from Powerful reads: “The unguarded statements credited to one Abuja-based Ohaneze Ndigbo chieftain, Barrister Augustine Amaechi, claiming that Ohaneze Ndigbo wants restructuring instead of a referendum have drawn the attention of the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“The few Ohanaeze Ndigbo political jobbers calling for restructuring should perish along with it. A referendum is desired by Biafrans.

“We won’t alert Ohanaeze once more. If this idiot Augustine Amaechi is speaking for himself, Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership must state this publicly otherwise we will take his ranting as the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and this will only mean that they Ohanaeze have been mobilised by the enemies of our people to sabotage the current momentum and progress being made to hold the Zoological Republic of Nigeria accountable for the violent violations of Biafrans fundamental Human Rights, the crimes against humanity, and the crimes against the
