The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has won the coveted “Nigeria GovTech Awards” for Best Federal MDA in Sustainable ICT Infrastructure, placing first among federal ministries, divisions, and agencies with sustainable ICT infrastructure.
During the 2023 Nigeria GovTech Awards, which were held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the prize was given to the NYSC. The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, received deserving distinction as the “Distinguished Govtech Trailblazer.”
The nominees and final awards were the results of a nationwide, open, and impartial online voting procedure that was launched on radio, television, and print publications and overseen by the Presidency’s Bureau of Public Service Reforms.

Brig Gen Ahmed expressed gratitude for the honours on behalf of NYSC, and Mrs. Christy Uba, director of information and communication technology (ICT), described the awards as a clear endorsement and appreciation of the sustained improvement in the IT services provided by NYSC to its stakeholders and the general public.
Ahmed continued by saying that NYSC would keep using ICT tools to carry out its activities in accordance with international best practises.
