At the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, President Bola Tinubu swore in three extra ministers to his 48-member cabinet.
Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Ayodele Olawande, and Balarabe Lawal are the newest ministers.
Before the start of the Federal Executive Council meeting, which Tinubu is presiding over, they took the oath of office in the Council Chamber of the State House at 12:15 PM.
This occurs almost two weeks after the Senate approved the three on October 4, 2023, following a vetting.
President Tinubu appointed Ibrahim and Olawande as ministers of youth and minister of state for youth, respectively, on September 17, 2023.
Additionally, he asked the Senate to confirm Kaduna minister Balarabe Lawal.
Former governor Nasir El-Rufai’s secretary of state Lawal, who took over for him in Tinubu’s cabinet as environment minister, replaced his predecessor.
Ibrahim, 37, is from the state of Kwara. She is a politician, doctor, development specialist, and supporter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
She held the position of National President of the APC Young Women Forum prior to her most recent assignment.

Olawande, 34, is a youth leader in the All Progressives Congress and an expert in community development.
Prior to being nominated, Olawande worked in Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s office as the vice president’s special adviser on innovation under previous president Muhammadu Buhari. He held the position from 2019 to 2023.
The Council observed a moment of silence before to the meeting in memory of Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, who passed away on July 1, 2023.
Ajose-Adeogun passed away at 96 years old. The Murtala Mohammed military dictatorship appointed him Minister of Federal Capital in 1976, and he held the job through 1979.
The gathering on Monday is the second to take place since President Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023.
