Bandits raid the Kaduna Mosque, killing the Chief Imam and others
A mosque in the Ga Allah Babba hamlet, close to Sabon Layi in the state’s Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, was attacked by gunmen who are thought to be bandits terrorising Kaduna State.
According to information obtained by OBASANJO NEWS24, the attack, which was carried out by the attacker in the wee hours of Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of the mosque’s head imam and two other worshippers.
At least two other worshippers were said to have been hurt in the attack.
The incident occurred when Muslims were doing their morning prayers, according to Zubair Abdurrauf, a community leader who confirmed the news to Channels TV.

“Two additional attendees and a mosque’s imam were slain. Tuesday at about five in the morning, it happened. At the Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital in Birnin-Gwari, two additional worshippers who suffered grave injuries are being treated.
“Bandits frequently target settlements in Birnin-Gwari, killing and kidnapping locals, particularly farmers. The situation has worsened and is a nightmare for drivers and travellers on the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway.
“I am urging the governors in the North-West zone to unite and immediately form a security task force that will include the military, police, and neighbourhood vigilantes, as was done in Borno State, where the civilian JTF closely collaborated with the security agencies to combat the Boko Haram terrorists. The problem of banditry in the northwestern zone can only be solved in this way; else, we are done.
