Bandits killed 5 police officers and 3 soldiers in a Zamfara ambush, highlighting the persistent insecurity challenges in the region.

On Thursday morning, bandits staged a fatal ambush in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State which resulted in the death of three soldiers and five police officers.

While security personnel were accompanying employees of Setraco Nigeria Limited, a construction company functioning in the region, the attack happened.

Newsmen were informed by a military source of the tragic incident, which revealed that security operatives had been caught off guard when attacked with gunfire by bandits.

The ambush resulted in the deaths of eight security personnel, comprising three soldiers and five police officers.

Yet, an immediate military action averted any additional harm to both the Setraco workers and the remaining security personnel.
