Bandits Abduct Mopol Officer in Plateau, Soldier Escapes
A soldier narrowly escapes as bandits abduct a Mopol officer in Plateau, raising concerns over rising insecurity.
A mobile police (Mopol) officer has been abducted by rampaging bandits in Kampani community of Wase local government area, Plateau state.
Sources from the area report that an unfortunate occurrence took place on Wednesday evening. While en route to Kamapani from Zurak community, a police officer and soldier were unexpectedly attacked by bandits.
According to the source who spoke with OBASANJONEWS, it was reported that while the policeman got kidnapped, the soldier managed to flee.

It was stated that the security team deployed in Bangalala, Kampani, Zurak and other communities afflicted by banditry included a soldier as well as a police officer.
According to Sahapi Sambo, a local youth leader who verified the situation, two individuals were en route to meet their colleagues in Kampani when they were assaulted.
The community in that area has been plagued by banditry for some time now and as a result security forces are constantly patrolling the region to protect both people and property.
At this point however there is still no word on what happened with regards to the missing police officer(s).
On Thursday, the youth leader revealed that security operatives – soldiers, police officers and vigilantes – had tracked down the bandits to their secret location in order to save the kidnapped policeman.
