A 26-year-old tricycle rider named Ahmed Umaru was taken into custody by Eagle-Net Special Squad agents in Delta State.
The Delta State Police Command confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who also revealed that the suspect was apprehended on March 12 at around 9 am during a patrol when a tricycle with the licence plate RRU 773 QK carrying three male passengers was stopped and searched.

Three locally produced firearms and one live cartridge that were disguised in a sack of rice were discovered after a thorough examination, according to Edafe. The tricycle and Ahmed Umaru, a 26-year-old resident of Ayingba LGA in Kogi State, were abandoned as two of the suspects ran off running into the woods.
Notwithstanding the fact that “the tricycle rider was detained and the exhibit retrieved,” Edafe insisted that “efforts to apprehend the fugitive suspects are underway.”
