As an “auspicious occasion to promote my vision for Nigeria,” the PDP candidate described the interaction.
Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, met with members of the British Parliament on Tuesday to address concerns that, if he were to be elected president next month, may worry the European nation.
At 6:13 p.m., the politician tweeted, “I just ended successful discussions with The Right Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP—Minister for Development and Africa in the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), among other critical top UK government officials.
Sharing my vision for Nigeria, encapsulated in the Unity Seed, with them was a fortunate moment. Devolution, economy, security, and the arts (of powers) all contribute to this vision.
“I requested their assistance, and I am heartened by the UK government’s steadfast desire to aid Nigeria in recovering every aspect of its life.”
Strong Meeting
Earlier, Atiku’s team met with the British directors of national security and open spaces, according to Senator Dino Melaye, director of public affairs for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
“We had a frank conversation on the economy, defence, and security during our meeting with roughly seven departmental heads and directors of government agencies in the UK.
“We also discussed immigration concerns extensively.” It was a fantastic gathering. “Today’s conversation with the British government was quite fascinating,” he said.
Melaye emphasised that the PDP candidate has been active in reaching out to Nigerians, particularly those who are eligible to vote.
Not that he isn’t involved in global affairs. He claimed that more than any other presidential contender, he has visited presidents all around the world.
In the last two months, Atiku Abubakar has met with about seven African leaders, mostly in the ECOWAS region, to talk about security in the region and possible solutions.
No other presidential contender, in his opinion, has accomplished that.
