APC candidates’ request to submit witnesses and evidence in an electoral matter is granted by the appeals court
Three candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly in Rivers State were granted their request by an appeals court in Abuja to finalise their witnesses and evidence for the Election Petition Tribunal.
The tribunal’s decision prohibiting Clinton West, the Rivers State APC House candidate for the Asari/Toru and Akuku/Toru Federal Constituency, from calling witnesses and submitting all of the exhibits materials was also overturned by the court.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the candidates for the Omuma State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Kelechi Ubani, Mazi Prince Ernest, and Raymond Nwokocha of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni State Constituency One and Two, were prohibited from calling witnesses and submitting all original test results as evidence needed to support their claims.
The panel hearing the appeal filed by the APC candidates overturned the tribunal’s decision and directed the tribunal to permit the APC candidates to present their witnesses, papers, and evidence.
