APC Announces the Schedule for the Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa Guber Primaries, Fixing the Nomination Fee at N50m
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the schedule for the governorship primaries in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa and set the nomination fee form at N50m.
The terms of office for the governors of Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states expire on January 14, 26, and February 13, 2024, respectively. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set election day for the three states for November 11, 2023.
Delegate forms would be auctioned between January 30 and February 1, 2023, according to a notice published on Friday by APC’s National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu.
The announcement stated that the deadline for submitting delegate forms is February 2, 2023, and that the day for electing ward delegates is set for February 7, 2023.
The APC said on February 8, 2023 that it will entertain congressional appeals and noted that the governorship candidates’ nomination and expression of interest forms would be available from February 15 through February 22, 2023. The forms can be obtained by interested parties at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The screening of applicants is anticipated to take place between February 24 and March 26, 2023, with the results being announced on March 28, 2023.
Moreover, the APC set the dates for the governorship primaries in Imo and Bayelsa for April 10, 2023, but not for Kogi.
