The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised allegations against the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) led administration in Kano state, accusing them of orchestrating a protest in Abuja against Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s continued tenure as the party’s national chairman.

The accusations were brought to light by the Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Civil Society and Support Group, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, who claimed that the NNPP-led administration mobilized protesters, predominantly Kwankwasiyya members, some of whom hailed from the North-central zone, to demand Ganduje’s resignation through the protest.

Ogenyi went on to assert that the protest was allegedly coordinated by a senior aide to the Kano State Governor, whose identity was not disclosed, and who reportedly expressed determination to facilitate Ganduje’s removal from office.

The APC national chairman’s aide further revealed that the scheme was exposed when certain protesters, who were supposedly hired, voiced grievances about not receiving the full amount promised to them by the Kano State Government.

According to the Ganduje aide, the protesters claimed they were initially assured of fifty thousand naira each for their participation but were ultimately disbursed only ten thousand naira each by the organizers.

He emphasized that some of the hired demonstrators, who masqueraded as North-central APC stakeholders during the protest at the APC national secretariat, were identified as sponsored individuals.

Additionally, he pointed out the contradictory actions of some protesters who wore Kwankwasiyya T-shirts and caps while asserting their membership in the APC, highlighting the potential threat posed by such deceptive tactics to the party’s internal harmony.

It is regrettable and concerning to witness the extent of desperation displayed by certain individuals who claim to be the true APC stakeholders in the North Central region.

These individuals, including Senator Ameh Ebute CON, Former Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Jack Tilley Gyado, Ambassador Adadu Eachi, Nentanwe Goshwe, the 2023 APC Governorship Candidate Plateau State, Prof. Salihu Ali Zaga, former Commissioner in Nasarawa State, and many others, have now resorted to involving individuals from the North-central zone to demand the removal of Governor Ganduje, as their previous attempts to achieve their malicious objectives in Kano state have failed miserably.
