Another Labour Party Rep Member Defects to APC
The Labour Party faces another setback as a House of Representatives member officially defects to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing alignment with party policies.
Ajang Alfred Iliya, a member of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement of Iliya’s defection, representing the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, was made by Speaker Tajudeen Abass.
Abass conveyed the information regarding Alfred’s change of party affiliation through a letter.
It is noteworthy that just two days prior, another Labour Party representative, Daniel Chollom, also transitioned to the APC.
Chollom, in a letter presented during the plenary session by Speaker Tajudeen, cited the ongoing leadership crisis within the Labour Party and his intention to support the President in advancing national development as the motivations behind his decision.
Additionally, approximately one week ago, four other members of the House of Representatives from the Labour Party also defected to the APC.
