Chibuike Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, has criticised Nigerians, claiming they have no emotional response to anything.

In a widely shared video, Amaechi was speaking at a Lagos State event. This was his first significant public appearance since the All Progressives Congress primary elections, in which he lost to Bola Tinubu, who went on to win the presidential election.

Regarding the purported certificate fraud, Amaechi stated that although politicians have never refuted their theft or forgery of school or NYSC certificates, Nigerians continue to support them.

Amaechi bemoaned the fact that Nigerians, who in his opinion take nothing seriously, brush off important issues that might easily spark large-scale rallies in other countries.

Nigerians are indifferent to everything. Have any politicians assured you that they are not liars? You are yelling, “forgery!” Which politician assured you that he wasn’t lying? Which candidate claimed to have attended college? Which lawmaker informed you that she was a NYSC member? What politician informed you that he possesses his certificate, he asked.

“What’s your problem, Nigerians know and still vote for them? No, explain to me what’s wrong. Why should I speak now that nothing new has happened, please?

Nigerians are not bothered by anything, so why should I spend my time? I decided to keep quiet inside the house. I decided not to speak again due to the lack of action by Nigerians.

“Suicides are occurring among Nigerians. You are killing yourself, not trying to solve your problems.

“Every day I pray that you keep killing yourself so that when I wake up someday, all of you will have passed away and I will be able to take those things as compensation for your death.”
