All Ward Executive Members Defect from PDP in Abia

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bende local government area of Abia State has experienced a significant change as the entire executive committee members of Item ward C have decided to resign from the party.

This decision was conveyed through a letter addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Bende Local Government Area, with copies sent to the Abia chairman and the Acting National chairman of the party.

The chairman of the PDP ward executive members, Francis Eke Okoye, led the resignation and cited the disarray and turmoil within the national leadership of the party as the primary reason for their action.

In addition to the issues within the party’s leadership, the executive members also expressed their support for their leader and former presidential aspirant in the PDP, Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, who recently made the decision to resign from the party.

The letter emphasized their unwavering confidence and backing for Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, which further solidified their resolve to step away from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The letter, which was drafted after a meeting held at the Party secretariat on April 30th, 2024, outlined the resolutions made by the executive members and stakeholders of PDP Item ward C. It highlighted their disappointment with the activities and lack of orderliness within the national leadership of the party.

The executive members concluded the letter by formally tendering their resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, expressing gratitude to the local government leadership, state, and national levels for the opportunities they had been given.
