In Jikwoyi, Karu District of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) is accused of improper land allocations and other breaches, according to the Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN).

The FCT minister recently pledged to respect the original master plan of Abuja, but the National President of the Association, Khalil Mohd Bello, raised the alarm in a statement made available to OBASANJO NEWS24. He stated that the purported allocations completely invalidate that promise.

“Our Association has received worrying reports of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) violating the Land Use Act, completely undermining the recent FCT Minister His Excellency Bar. Hon Nyesom Wike’s pledge to protect the original master plan of Abuja.

“To our dismay, we have been informed that the former council Executive Chairman or the predecessors of the present AMAC chairman, illegally allotted plots within our members’ residential zones, in violation of the Land Use Act’s requirements.

This Act recognises Nigerians who have lived in a spot for more than a century as the legitimate owners of their home zones, according to the statement.

The association further asserted that the development has significantly upset its members, who have lived peacefully in the neighbourhood for more than a century.

We respectfully request that the Honourable Chairman AMAC and the relevant officials urgently conduct an official visit to the area to assess the situation first-hand and revoke all erroneous allocations made within our members’ residential areas by his predecessors in the interest of equity, justice, and fairness.

“We genuinely worry about the violations of our rights and way of life.

“We trust that this matter will be promptly resolved to avert potential disputes and to maintain peaceful relations within our beloved Abuja and Nigeria generally,” KACRAN continued.
