Nigeria has received the body of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the late former governor of Ondo State.
The plane carrying Akeredolu’s arrived on Friday at approximately 3:39 p.m.

The late governor passed away in Germany, and his remains were transferred to Nigeria.
According to Obasanjo News24, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, his immediate younger brother, led his siblings in receiving the body along with his wife, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, children, and other family members.
The following governors participated in the body’s reception: Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, represented by Secretary to the State Government Tokunbi Talabi; Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, through his Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde; and Senator Demola Adeleke of Osun State.
According to Obasanjo News24, on December 26, 2023, Akeredolu passed away in Germany.
Until the last interment, his remains are kept at the mortuary.
