Akeredolu: Makinde joins Aiyedatiwa in announcing three-day mourning in Oyo
The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has announced a three-day mourning period for the late Governor of Ondo State, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. In addition, Governor Makinde has instructed that all flags at public offices in the state be flown at half-mast for the duration of the mourning period.
The governor’s directive was conveyed through a statement issued by his Special Adviser (Media), Mr Sulaimon Olarenwaju. Governor Makinde’s decision came after he, along with Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, paid a visit to the late Governor Akeredolu’s residence in Ibadan.
It is worth noting that the Ondo State Government had previously declared a three-day mourning period to honor the deceased, as announced by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday.
