The abuse of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) member Joe Ajaero in Owerri is linked to the protest that occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday, according to Aviation Union Vice President Chris Omagbemi.

The vice president of the Abuja Union said over the phone with Nigerian Tribune that the protest did not go exactly as planned.

“All flights to Owerri were supposed to be stopped, but there were some confusions.” We’ll halt all flights to Owerri tomorrow, but there won’t be any airport congestion,” he said.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has pleaded with the Union to hold off on more protests in the meantime.

Every time there is an issue at one of the main airports, he claimed, the nation loses a significant amount of money.

According to reports, the Nigerian Police detained the NLC President a few days ago at the governor of Imo state’s instruction, Hope Udozima.
