Aiyedatiwa receives support from seven APC aspirants

Seven individuals who vied for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on April 20 have now publicly declared their support for the incumbent governor.

This show of solidarity comes approximately a month after the shadow primary took place in preparation for the upcoming November 16 gubernatorial election.

The aspirants, namely Morayo Lebi, Dayo Faduyile, Soji Ehinlanwo, Diran Iyantan, Mayowa Akinfolarin, Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, and Jimi Odimayo, have jointly urged party members to prioritize peace over any potential divisions that may arise from the outcome of the shadow primary.

In a statement signed by all seven aspirants, they emphasized the importance of unity within the party and highlighted the need for a collective focus on securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming governorship polls.

Despite some reservations expressed by a few aspirants, they reiterated their unwavering support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

Recognizing that achieving perfection is an ongoing process, the aspirants, who have played significant roles in the growth of the party, emphasized the detrimental effects of internal divisions on party unity.

They called upon their supporters and all stakeholders to prioritize the party’s interests over personal agendas, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity for a successful electoral outcome.
