Emmanuel, a cadet in the Air Force Tarmac Four, tragically passed away just months before his graduation from the National Defence Academy (NDA).

According to an anonymous source, Emmanuel lost his life in the swimming pool of a well-known hotel in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, while he was there to enjoy himself.

It remains unclear whether Emmanuel was aware of the ongoing renovation at the facility before he entered the pool.

The state fire service eventually rescued Emmanuel’s lifeless body, and he was later pronounced dead at the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia.

The fact that he was found wearing his swimming trunks suggests that he had intended to swim before the unfortunate incident occurred.

Emmanuel was last seen in the pool at approximately 6:37 pm, but it took until 9:58 pm for him to be rescued.

The dilapidated condition of the swimming pool made the rescue operation challenging, and there were no divers available to assist until the arrival of the state fire service personnel.

Despite attempts to gather more information, the Army Public Relations Officer (APRO) of the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Ohafia, Lt. Innocent Omale, was unable to provide any details regarding the incident at the time of reporting.
