As the Chairman of the Authority of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu attended the conference.

He had left on Saturday to travel to Kenya.

At the Nairobi gathering, Tinubu emphasised the importance of maintaining Africa’s power and unity while rejecting the idea of a fresh race for the continent.

In an effort to prevent coups and terrorism on the continent, Tinubu had also stated ambitions to strengthen the ECOWAS Standby Force.
