The top Yoruba socio-cultural organisation Afenifere, according to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, represents the future of Nigeria.

At a rally for his presidential campaign on Wednesday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Obi commented.

Recall that Chief Ayo Adebanjo, an elder statesman and the head of the Yoruba sociopolitical organisation known as Afenifere, had backed Obi’s bid for the presidency in 2023.

Adebanjo had shown his support for Obi time and time again.

“It is not a tea party anymore.
Even though those present do not want to go, we will expel them.
Don’t let the opposition scare you; I want you to take action.

“In Peter Obi, I had discovered someone who might calm me down for a brighter tomorrow.
Your future is in your hands, and Peter Obi will become the next president thanks to your good deeds,” he had previously remarked.

However, Obi said that Adebanjo and Afenifere are fighting for justice and fairness while running for office on Wednesday in Ibadan.

“Let me tell you that what Ayo Adebanjo and Afenifere stand for today will determine Nigeria’s destiny.
They are standing for equality, justice, and fairness, and only equity, justice, and fairness will serve as the cornerstone upon which we will construct a united Nigeria, according to Obi.
