Gbandeh did not only make safe predictions in his prophecies. He announced loudly that Senegal had lost to Ivory Coast on penalties, that Nigeria had defeated Cameroon, and that Cape Verde had unexpectedly defeated Mauritania.

After his Facebook post outlining his pre-match predictions went viral, he became an overnight AFCON oracle.

Gbandeh declared on social media, “Just as I predicted, Cameroon, Namibia, Equatorial Guinea, and Egypt have all been knocked out of the AFCON.” “As I mentioned a few days ago, Egypt was eliminated on penalties, which makes it even more interesting.”
