Despite being the underdogs, Equatorial Guinea couldn’t overcome Guinea’s strong performance. Equatorial Guinea, who defied expectations by finishing at the top of Group A, were eliminated from the tournament. Guinea, on the other hand, advanced to the next stage as one of the best third-place teams from Group C, which included Senegal and Cameroon. The match took place at Ebimpe’s Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium.
