The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it had apprehended numerous suspected militants in Gaza over the past week and transferred over 200 of them to Israel for further questioning. Additionally, a ship affiliated with Israel was targeted by a drone off the west coast of India, resulting in a fire, as reported by British maritime security firm Ambrey.

On Saturday, an Israel-affiliated merchant vessel was struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle off the west coast of India, according to British maritime security firm Ambrey. This incident marks the first known attack of its kind occurring so far away from the Red Sea since the Gaza war.

Despite the UN’s call for increased humanitarian aid to be allowed into the besieged Palestinian enclave, Israel continued its airstrikes on Gaza on Saturday, with reports of heavy shelling in several cities by Hamas authorities.

After five days of negotiations to avoid a potential US veto, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Friday, urging for the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The resolution refrains from demanding a ceasefire, a condition that Israel and its ally, the US, find unacceptable. Instead, it calls for the creation of conditions that would lead to a sustainable cessation of hostilities.

According to Israeli officials, the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel on October 7 resulted in the deaths of 1,139 individuals, including 695 Israeli civilians, including 36 children. The health ministry in the Hamas-run enclave of Gaza reports that at least 20,258 people have been killed in Israel’s subsequent assault on the Gaza Strip.
