Abuja, Nigeria’s political capital, is increasingly becoming one of the most terrifying cities in the world, according to security expert Bulama Bukarti.

He highlighted the prevalence of kidnappers, one-chance robbers, and other criminals who are wreaking havoc on innocent citizens.

Bukarti emphasized that criminals and armed robbers, disguised as taxi drivers, are inflicting harm and robbing Nigerians at major junctions in Abuja in an unprecedented manner.

He further stated that the situation in Abuja is a reflection of the broader security challenges faced by Nigeria as a whole, with over 9,700 people killed in 2023 alone.

Bukarti revealed that violent terrorist groups from various regions have infiltrated Abuja, while some operate from neighboring states.

He warned that this alarming trend will deter investors, discourage diplomats from residing in the capital, and negatively impact Nigeria’s security rating globally.

Bukarti called on security agencies to take decisive and sustained action not only in Abuja but also in other parts of the country, emphasizing the need to confront bandits and terrorists wherever they may be.
