Benin is scheduled to face Nigeria at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan in June, as reported by Obasanjonews.com.
The decision to move the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday four tie to Abidjan was made due to the Benin Football Federation’s inability to provide a suitable venue for the game.
This match will see the Super Eagles return to familiar territory, as they were previously based in Abidjan during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
During that tournament, Nigeria played three out of their seven games at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.

Before facing the Squirrels of Benin, the West Africans will first host the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a matchday three encounter.
The game against South Africa is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7.
So far, the Super Eagles have not managed to secure a win in the qualifiers. They were only able to salvage draws in their opening two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The upcoming matches against South Africa and Benin will be crucial for Nigeria as they aim to secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
