For 20 years, a human rights organisation in Nigeria has been combating superstitions.
A Nigerian human rights organisation has taken in at least 8,000 children accused of witchcraft over the past 20 years. The victims of dangerous superstitions have been denied a respectable future, but with the assistance of the Child Rights and Rehabilitation Network, they now have a chance to become a part of society.
The network’s president, Sam Itauma, lamented that false information from some churches was causing innocent children to be attacked, killed, and abandoned.
As he detailed the organisation’s attempts to combat false notions, he made note of the opposition and pushback that these initiatives had encountered.
Itauma continued, “You have to give your comfort—nearly a life—for people to live.
