As political calculations for the 2027 elections intensify, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai meets with ex-Minister Rauf Aregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare. What could be brewing?

With political movements taking shape ahead of the 2027 general election, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has met with ex-Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare in Lagos.

Aregbesola, who was once a close ally of President Bola Tinubu, recently departed from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) due to internal conflicts within the party. Meanwhile, El-Rufai has openly criticized the APC for failing to meet public expectations.

Muyiwa Adekeye, the media adviser to El-Rufai, announced the visit on Sunday through social media. “Today in Lagos, Malam Nasir @elrufai met with Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare,” Adekeye wrote.
