2023: PDP crisis is resolved when Makinde, Akinjide, and others concur to organise Atiku’s massive rally in Ibadan
People in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State seem to have worked out their differences now that top state officials have agreed to watch over the rally for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will launch his 2023 presidential campaign in Oyo State on Thursday. The state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the former deputy governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, and the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, are anticipated to be present.
The state chapter of the party had been fighting with itself for a long time, but that fight is over now.
All of the party’s candidates at every level will be properly introduced at the event, it was learned.

Governor Makinde, who is the youth leader of the G-5 Forum, has pushed for the right things to be done so that the party can play the role it should at the national level. This is especially true when it comes to strict adherence to the zoning principle.
Other party leaders have said that only the NEC, not Atiku, has the power to get rid of Iyorcha Ayu as national chairman. This has caused the state chapter of the party to split into two groups.
As a result of the recent events, the party is back to normal. This is because all of the different groups have decided to put their differences aside and work together to achieve the party’s goals at all levels.
