The Permanent Voter Cards, or PVCs, collecting date has been extended nationally, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
The Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, said during a meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioners, or RECs, from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory on Friday in Abuja that the Commission will not be hesitant to consider additional measures to ensure that all citizens have plenty of opportunity to collect their PVCs prior to the general election.

The Commission stated that after reviewing reports from all the states of the Federation, it was encouraged by the advancements made thus far as more Nigerians go out every day to acquire their PVCs.
Therefore, the Commission gave all of its local government offices a one-week notice before beginning the collection of PVCs.
Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, issued a statement that read, “The ongoing collection of PVCs nationally will thus continue and end on February 5, 2023.”
