18-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Drugs Boyfriend, Steals ₦4 Million

An 18-year-old girl has been accused of drugging her boyfriend’s drink before making away with ₦4 million. Read more on the shocking incident.

Rukayatu Ashinu, an 18-year-old woman, appeared in the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday after being accused of stealing N4 million in cash from her boyfriend.

The defendant is on trial facing charges of conspiracy and theft, for both of which she has entered a plea of not guilty.

The prosecutor, PC Olapeju Durodola, informed the court that the defendant, along with others who are currently at large, committed the offenses on November 30, 2024. The incident took place at Mufu Lanihun in Yidi Agugu, Ibadan.

She claimed that the defendant supposedly added a substance to her boyfriend Waris Olamilekan’s drink, causing him to lose consciousness.

She stated that the defendant took the money after spiking the complainant’s drink with a substance.

Durodola stated that the offenses violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code according to the Laws of Oyo State from the year 2000.

Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, the Chief Magistrate, granted bail to the defendant set at N2 million, requiring two sureties of equal amount.

Ogunkanmi specified that one of the guarantors must own property within the court’s jurisdiction, while the other guarantor needs to be a relative by blood to the defendant.

She subsequently postponed the matter for a hearing on May 26.
