Zulum succeeds in Borno’s reelection campaign

Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has been proclaimed the victor of the state’s March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election.

Governor Zulum received 545,543 votes, beating out Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenger Mohammed Jajari, who received 82,147 votes, according to Professor Jude Rabo, the election’s returning officer, who also announced the final results.

By a margin of victory of 463,396 votes, Zulum overcame his nearest challenger.

“Babagana Umara Zulum of the APC received 545,543 votes, garnering at least 25% of the vote in each of the state’s 27 local government units.

The returning officer announced that Babagana Umara Zulum was the winner after fulfilling all legal conditions.
