Gov Zulum lifts the curfew and offers condolences to the families affected by the Kawori bomb blast, showing solidarity and support.
The curfew imposed in the aftermath of the Kaworu bomb blast, which claimed 16 lives and critically injured many others, has been lifted by Babagana Zulum – governor of Borno state.
On Friday, the curfew was temporarily eased by the government to permit Muslims to practice their Friday (Jumaat) prayers.
The governor, consoling the families affected by the Kawuri bomb attack during a statewide broadcast, explained that imposing a curfew was imperative to prevent Boko Haram elements from exploiting the situation and causing chaos in the state.
My deepest condolences go to the families affected by this unfortunate incident, as well as all of Borno State. I also extend my sympathies to those who were injured and are currently receiving medical attention.
“During this moment, we come together in mourning and unity as we denounce this act of irrational violence,” he uttered.
The state’s governor, Zulum, stated that the protest was taken over by criminal elements who attempted to damage public structures. However, due to prompt actions from security agencies including the military prevented disaster.
He asserted that the state’s security would not be jeopardized under any circumstances, even as residents are charged to carry out their daily activities.
