Zulum emails the UN about the Nigerian soldier’s murder of humanitarian worker
Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno, has sent the UN a letter of sympathy (UN).
His message came after an errant trooper killed a humanitarian aid worker and at least one soldier.
At a military station in Borno State’s Damboa Local Government Area, tragedy struck on Thursday.
The soldier was eliminated after going wild, according to Major Samson Zhakom, an army spokesman for Operation Hadin Kai.
In response, Matthias Schmale, the UN humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria, asked that relief workers have sufficient safety.

Zulum said in a letter to Schmale that the murder had surprised and upset him greatly.
He sent his sympathies to the Mrs. Alem Muluseta’s family, Medicine de Monde (DM) coworkers, and the aid industry.
Additionally, the governor offered consolation to the families of “the troops who sacrificed their lives trying to detain the culprit”.
According to Zulum, it was a case that had never been seen before and might not be unrelated to the offender’s mental state.
The injured pilot has received the necessary care and is making a good recovery, according to the Borno helmsman.
“Until he heals, we’ll do everything we can to help him obtain what he needs.
The military is looking into what Zulum reaffirmed, “We will keep collaborating with the military and our partners to support Mental Health Programs.”
