Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a former striker for Manchester United, has expressed concern about how manager Erik ten Hag handles star players.
Also not sure that Ten Hag is the best choice to head Man United is the former Sweden international.
Since taking over, Ten Hag has made an effort to instill a more disciplined culture at Man United, removing Cristiano Ronaldo after he openly attacked the team and isolating Jadon Sancho after the English winger felt his manager was using him as a scapegoat.
Ibrahimovic stated, as quoted by The Sun, that “coming from Ajax to United as he did is a big difference. I have been in both clubs.” in an interview with Piers Morgan on his TalkTV show.
“You practise a distinct discipline. Ajax is a gifted team. They possess the club’s top talent. They have few notable stars.
“How much experience does this coach have? Young talents join United, and there is a distinct mentality there.
“There are supposed to be big-name athletes playing. I don’t believe you treat everyone equally.
Then obviously, I don’t know what happened with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, the man continued.
“Even when things are going well, mistakes and issues still exist, but you don’t notice them because we are winning.”
