Zangon Kataf attack by bandits results in seven fatalities and nine injuries
Six inhabitants of the Takanai Gora hamlet in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf Local Government Area were killed and six others were injured in an attack by gunmen believed to be bandits.
The six victims were buried on Wednesday morning in front of the local government chairman, Francis Sani, according to a statement from Yabo Chris Ephraim, the special adviser on media and publicity to the chairman of Zangon Kataf.
He claimed that in addition to denouncing the assault, the chairman pleaded for peace in the neighbourhood and encouraged all residents to forego resorting to pointless violence.
According to Ephraim, those slain in the incident included Sarah Adamu, Rejoice Adamu, Enoch Adamu, Juan Aminu, Salomi Aminu, and Meshak Aminu. Those who were hurt included Kubai Adamu, Judith Adamu, Abigail Adamu, Dennis Joseph, Grace Bitrus, and Adamu Ibrahim.
In an attack on Kwankwami village in Gadar Gayan, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, one other person was killed and three others were hurt, and the attackers also kidnapped a local who only went by the name Mukailu.
