Following seven months in captivity, Federal University Gusau faculty and students who were kidnapped by bandits in February have been released.

The circumstances of their release, including if a ransom was paid, are still unknown, though.

Makama stated that the protection of their independence was greatly aided by security troops.

“Reports indicate that in February of this year, during a bandit attack in the Gusau area, students and staff were abducted,” Makama stated.

He went on to say that everyone who was kidnapped had returned safely and in good health.
