Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara State, has denounced the recent kidnapping of Federal University Gusau students.
More than 24 university students were taken hostage by gunmen who invaded the Sabon-Gida hamlet in the Bungudu Local Government Area, according to Channels Television.
The governor, who was upset by the occurrence, called the attack “cowardly.” After that, he gave security agencies orders to free the captive students.
He wrote on Twitter on Sunday, “I’m deeply saddened by the recent cowardly attacks by armed bandits at Sabon Gida village where some residents and School girls were kidnapped.”
Security agents were dispatched right away, and they were successful in saving some of the victims. They are still pursuing the culprits on foot and by air.

Meeting for Emergency Security
The governor called an emergency Security Council meeting in an effort to address the security situation in the state of Washington.
The governor’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, stated on Friday that the goal of the conference is to “seek the immediate release of all abducted persons and also finding a lasting solution to the lingering issue of insecurity that has become a source of concern to the administration.”
Additionally, Governor Lawal gave his deputy, Mani Mummuni, instructions to help the security authorities in any way possible so that life can return to normal in all the affected districts.
“The security leaders gave the Deputy Governor assurances about their commitment to reestablishing calm in the State during the meeting. The Deputy Governor received an equally unambiguous confirmation from them that forces had successfully freed six kidnap victims, Idris stated.
The security chiefs added, “Troops have neutralised hundreds of the kidnappers and are vigorously pursuing them to secure the safe rescue of all captives.
Mani Mallam Mummuni pleaded with the heads of the security services to increase military presence for monitoring in tense areas.
The residents of Zamfara have been informed by the deputy governor that security personnel are making every effort to deal with the current scenario.
