In 2023, the Zamfara State Fire Service reported that fire incidents resulted in the destruction of properties valued at N273,335,230 throughout the year.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jibo Dauran, the Executive Director of the State Fire Service, informed the press in Gusau, the State capital, that these incidents took place at different intervals during the year.
The Fire Service managed to save properties worth 842,933,340, but unfortunately, there were 75 injuries, 80 fatalities, and a total of 75 fire calls in 2023.
- Dauran elaborated on the causes of fire incidents in Gusau, which encompassed power surges, gas cooker accidents, and more.
- He urged the residents of the State to ensure they turn off all electrical devices before going to sleep or leaving their homes and workplaces.
- Additionally, he highlighted that his office is responsible for tasks such as rescue operations and providing humanitarian services.
